A. Abdalla Zarroug joins SAMA Executive Committee
It is our pleasure to announce that Abdalla Zaroug, Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota has joined SAMA’s Executive Committee as administrator in charge of Educational Activities.
Abdalla graduated from Cornell University Medical College in New York, and trained in General Surgery in Mayo Clinic and Pediatric Surgery in Emory University. He frequently visits Sudan to perform surgical operations, and has been a valuable supporter of SAMA since it’s’ inception in July 2009.
B. SAMA Humanitarian Activities
Supporting the Sudanese National Society for the Deaf (SNSD)
Ezzeldin Salih, SAMA Secretary and Pediatrician in La Crosse, WI has successfully managed to acquire donated equipment (2 Hearing Aid Analyzers and 1 Audiometer) of a value of more than $15,000 be delivered on to SNSD in Sudan.
The Sudanese National Society for the Deaf was established in 1971 as a charitable nongovernmental organization in Khartoum, Sudan. It is led by Prof. Taha Talaat and has a well established successful track record in providing much needed charitable services to those with hearing and speech disabilities in Sudan.
We are in the process of collecting further equipment and will work soon on raising money to transport it to Khartoum.
