A complicated surgery for tongue cancer

A 45 year old male from North Kordofan State, presented with tongue cancer that required resection of the tongue cancer. The procedure was performed combined with immediate reconstruction of the tongue using radial forearm free micro vascular flap. Although cancer resection is usually performed, reconstruction was only possible because of the availability of the surgical microscope donated by SAMA to KTDH in 2017 and the Doppler device donated in 2018.
