SAMA leadership has been approached directly by patients from Sudan requesting a second opinion. This service has been well received and well appreciated. #FrontlineECHO and #Dialysis ECHO have noted a reluctance from learners to submit cases to be presented.
In order to maximize the educational value of these cases and to disseminate lessons learned to a wider audience, we are considering creating a system that allows for these cases to be shared in a manner that protects the privacy and maintains the confidentiality of the patient, the treating physician/hospitals, and the expert rendering the advice. It also serves to educate and empower patients.
