SAMA’s Project ECHO Hub in Khartoum
Project ECHO is a revolutionary guided-practice model that reduces health disparities in underserved and remote areas. Through innovative telementoring, the ECHO model uses a hub-and-spoke knowledge-sharing approach where expert teams lead virtual sessions, amplifying the capacity for providers to deliver best-in-practice care to the underserved in their own communities. In 2021, SAMA launched a hub in our office in Khartoum fully equipped with a solar panel and high-speed internet. We then established learning sites in Khartoum, Northern State, and Gadarif states. We launched Frontline ECHO, Dialysis ECHO, UoK ECHO, Surgery ECHO, OMFS ECHO – 2022, and OMFS ECHO 2023.
