About the Program
The Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) is a transformative, one-year experience for U.S.-based high school students who are passionate about humanitarian service and leadership. Youth Ambassadors will play a meaningful role in community outreach, visual storytelling, and fundraising to support relief and development efforts in Sudan.

Program Goals
- Cultivate the next generation of global leaders committed to service and inclusion.
- Engage youth in supporting Sudan-focused humanitarian and development projects.
- Develop skills in project management, ethical fundraising, and community storytelling.
- Promote values of kindness, excellence, diversity, and integrity.
Activities
Ambassadors are expected to engage in the following activities:
- Community Engagement
- Fundraising
- Volunteers mobilization
- Visual storytelling
Eligibility
- U.S.-based high school students, entering Grade 9 or higher by July 1, 2025.
- Minimum age: 14 years old.
- Commitment: ~3–5 hours/month for 12 months.
- No personal information of minors will be collected—parents serve as communication liaisons.
Parent & Guardian Involvement
Parents play a central role in ensuring youth safety and program integrity.
- Consent and waiver forms are required
- All communications go exclusively through the parent
- No direct communication with minors by SAMA staff
- Reimbursement is available for approved expenses
- Participation is voluntary and uncompensated (FLSA-compliant)
Recognition & Benefits
Upon successful completion, participants will receive:
- Certificate of Completion from SAMA
- Honorary Title: SAMA Youth Ambassador
- Recognition Letter for college or service application
