Overview
The healthcare systems across Sudan, South Sudan, and Sub-Saharan Africa face immense challenges, particularly in emergency medicine, critical care, and operative procedures. Resource constraints, insufficiently trained professionals, and the impacts of conflict continue to hamper the ability of healthcare providers to deliver life-saving care.
The Emergency ECHO program has been adapted from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) framework for Integrated Emergency, Critical, and Operative Care for Universal Health Coverage and Protection from Health Emergencies. This initiative aims to bridge the gaps in emergency care by providing comprehensive, integrated training to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills. By utilizing both real-time and self-paced learning methods, Emergency ECHO empowers doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to handle emergencies more effectively and save lives.
