As part of our ongoing commitment to food security in conflict-affected regions, the Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) is offering a $5,000 grant to support local nonprofit organizations working in Darfur, Sudan. This funding is intended to help address urgent food insecurity and malnutrition among internally displaced persons (IDPs).
What We’re Funding
SAMA is seeking proposals from registered local organizations with proven experience in humanitarian relief. The grant supports short-term, high-impact projects in the following areas:
- General Food Distribution to displacement camps
- Therapeutic Nutrition for malnourished groups (e.g., children under 5, pregnant and lactating women, elderly individuals)
Projects must be implemented within June 2025 and align with SAMA’s principles of political neutrality, and inclusivity.

Parent & Guardian Involvement
Parents play a central role in ensuring youth safety and program integrity.
- Consent and waiver forms are required
- All communications go exclusively through the parent
- No direct communication with minors by SAMA staff
- Reimbursement is available for approved expenses
- Participation is voluntary and uncompensated (FLSA-compliant)
