SJMS Legacy
Since its inception in 2006 by the Faculty of Medicine, Omdurman Islamic University, the Sudan Journal of Medical Sciences (SJMS) has been a pioneer in scientific research. As the first Sudanese journal indexed in Scopus and awarded its own Impact Factor, it has played a vital role in advancing medical knowledge in Sudan and globally.
Despite its achievements, SJMS is now facing immense financial challenges due to the ongoing war. These difficulties threaten its ability to continue publishing groundbreaking research.
The Challenge
To sustain its operations, global accessibility, and Scopus indexing, SJMS must cover its annual publisher’s fee of $5,700. While the Omdurman Islamic University diaspora has contributed significantly, additional support is crucial to maintain this invaluable resource for both Sudanese and international scholars.
Why It Matters
- Empowering Sudanese Researchers: SJMS enables Sudanese scientists to share their work globally, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Global Recognition: As the first Sudanese journal with an Impact Factor, SJMS highlights Sudan’s contributions to the medical field.
- Continuity Amid Crisis: Your support will ensure that SJMS remains a beacon of resilience and knowledge during these challenging times.
