Essential Eligibility Criteria – reviewed annually
- graduated from medical school
- financial need
- attestation by the applicant that they are in financial hardship
Desirable Eligibility -reviewed annually
proof of superior academic performance will perceived favorably by the committee

Applications will be reviewed by a committee that makes the final decision
Amount per person
$1200 (no more) – single transaction
Number of scholarships for 2024
10 – total $12,000
Process/Steps
- completion of the online application form
- personal information
- attestation financial hardship
- payment order for examination where applicable
- applications reviewed by the committee, and approved accordingly
Sustainability
- donations to Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Endowment fund
- target is $12,000 into scholarship for 2024
- all additional donations to go into the endowment fund (this will be disclosed to donors at the time of donation)
- considered interest-free loan that is due by 12/31/2029
- i.e. they pay back into the fund once they are financially able to, or by 12/31/2028 (whichever comes first)
Fundraising
- options for donors:
- monthly donations, $30 a month for one year
- target 33 donors to achieve the target
- One-time donations ($360 to $5000)
- monthly donations, $30 a month for one year
- once $12,000 is reached
- begin the process of scholarship application
- if the target exceeded then excess funds to go into the endowment fund
- monthly impact videos are posted to continue fundraising into the endowment fund
- goal for the endowment fund is $12,000 for 2024
