2025 May/June – Cholera in Khartoum

Amid a devastating cholera outbreak in Khartoum State, SAMA and its partners mounted a rapid emergency response that delivered 12,645 units of IV fluids to 13 critically affected health facilities, enabling treatment for over 2,000 patients. In parallel, 17 health awareness campaigns reached 11,500 people through community sessions, printed materials, and radio broadcasts. To learn more, click here

2020 – Covid 19 Pandemic – Medical Supplies Containers

2020 – November

Container #4 of medical supplies was funded in partnership with the Sudanese Doctors Union of Ireland. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) was distributed to eight COVID-19 isolation centers within Khartoum State.

2020 – October

Container#3 of medical supplies was funded in partnership with a coalition of Sudanese organizations against COVID-19 and distributed in Sudan by Sadagaat Charity Organization.

2020 – March

Container #2 of medical supplies arrived in mid-March 2020 just as the COVID-19 pandemic hit Sudan. SAMA was the first organization with medical supplies and PPE ready to distribute in Sudan. In coordination with the Khartoum State Ministry of Health & the Federal Ministry of Health, SAMA distributed PPE and respiratory supplies to over 20 hospitals in Khartoum State in addition to Wad Medani Heart Center in Gezira State and other state hospitals. 

2018 – Chikungunya Outbreak – Kassala

SAMA donations were used to purchase essential laboratory equipment & test supplies for two health centers in Kassala that served patients in the epicenter of the outbreak.

2017 – Acute Watery Diarrhea – Gezira, Sennar, and Blue Nile states

In 2017, An Acute Watery Diarrhea outbreak hit 3 states. SAMA funded local organizations to raise awareness, set up isolation camps, distribute sanitizing soap, and spray pesticides in the affected areas.
