Empowering Young Adults Through Fundraising to Serve Sudan
About the program
The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) equips a select cohort of young adults with the tools and mindset to lead in-person marketing campaigns to serve Sudan. Rooted in SAMA’s mission and values, this program develops the next generation of nonprofit communicators and storytellers. Through mentorship, hands-on project experience, and community building, participants help amplify humanitarian work in Sudan
Scope of Work
- In-person Fundraising & Communication Training
- Learning by doing – task assignment with supervision by experts to organize in-person events in the USA to promote SAMA’s work in US communities. Professionals lead training in nonprofit communications.
- Representation and Public Speaking Opportunities
- Opportunities to represent SAMA as a speaker at virtual and in-person events
- Networking Opportunities Within the SAMA Ecosystem
- Emerging Leaders are connected to experts through Virtual roundtables, speaker events and in-person events showcasing SAMA’s work
Eligibility Criteria
- Age 18–30 by Jan 1, 2026
- U.S.-based
- Strong interest in nonprofit storytelling or global issues
- Willingness to engage virtually with international teams
- Comfortable with public engagement and collaborative work
- Inclusive of all backgrounds; no restrictions based on race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin
Courses

Free Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising
Time Commitment
- Average Monthly Time Burden: ~4 hours per month
- Weekly: team meetings with US and Cairo team leadership (1 hour)
- Quarterly: One-on-one check-ins with the Chair of the Mentorship Committee (15 minutes)
Note: Project-related tasks and offline work will not exceed the time burden of scheduled meetings, ensuring the total commitment remains manageable.
