Overview
The Women’s Health Plan 2026 is SAMA’s strategic response to the urgent and growing health needs of Sudanese refugee women and girls affected by conflict and displacement. Grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centered care, the plan focuses on strengthening access to gender-based violence (GBV) response services, maternal and reproductive health care, HIV prevention, and psychosocial support, while building the capacity of frontline healthcare workers in crisis-affected settings.
Implemented in Kosti, Sudan and Adré, Chad, this plan responds to the realities faced by women and girls fleeing violence—many of whom arrive with severe trauma, untreated medical needs, and limited access to safe, confidential healthcare.
Our 2026 vision
By 2026, SAMA aims to ensure that displaced women and girls can safely access dignified, confidential, and comprehensive health and protection services, delivered by trained healthcare providers and supported by strong community referral systems.
The Women’s Health Plan 2026 envisions:
- Survivor-centered healthcare that prioritizes dignity, safety, and confidentiality
- Strengthened frontline health systems capable of responding to trauma and GBV
- Improved maternal and reproductive health outcomes in humanitarian settings
- Reduced stigma and increased community trust in health services
