This award recognizes organizations that turn humanitarian commitment into meaningful action—reaching communities, responding to urgent needs, and working alongside local partners to ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.
Our collaboration with Al-Rofaqaa has been built around this shared commitment.
A partnership rooted in action
Through its partnership with SAMA, Al-Rofaqaa has supported the implementation of humanitarian programs in Gedarif State, working closely with SAMA’s Humanitarian Relief team and local communities.
During Ramadan 2025, Al-Rofaqaa served as the implementing partner for SAMA’s feeding program, supporting the distribution of 450 food baskets to internally displaced and vulnerable families. The organization coordinated food distribution, worked with local representatives, and supported monitoring and documentation of the intervention.
The partnership continued during the Al-Fao flood response in September 2025, following severe flooding that affected communities across Al-Fao locality. Together with SAMA, Al-Rofaqaa supported an emergency food distribution that reached 444 households and 3,031 individuals.
More than assistance
What makes this partnership meaningful is not only the number of families reached, but the way the work is carried out: through local coordination, community engagement, beneficiary verification, monitoring, and accountability.
In Al-Fao, the response brought together SAMA, Al-Rofaqaa, local authorities, village committees, and volunteers to adapt the response to difficult field conditions and help ensure that assistance reached the most affected families.
The Humanitarian Relief Award of the Year 2026 recognizes Al-Rofaqaa for its commitment, local presence, and partnership in delivering humanitarian assistance where it is needed most.
