The Dr. Isam Osman Humanitarian Program was established in honor of the late Dr. Isam Osman. Dr. Osman was the Head of the Vascular and Endovascular Department and Operating Theatres in King Saud Medical City, Riyadh, KSA. He passed away on September 29, 2023, and left a legacy of surgical excellence, leadership, and mentorship. This program embodies his commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations in Sudan through providing medical care, and capacity-building efforts.

Program Overview
Delivering Medications and Medical Supplies
SAMA purchases life-saving medications and medical supplies locally to improve the impact and efficiency of each mission. By sourcing within Port Sudan, we can avoid import delays and help ensure that resources reach hospitals and patients as quickly as possible. This approach also supports local suppliers and allows us to better respond to immediate healthcare needs, especially during times of crisis.
Training Local Healthcare professionals
Led by expert doctors from the US, our missions focus on training local medical teams. This training strengthens the skills of healthcare professionals in Port Sudan, improving the overall quality of care long-term.

Today, we welcomed Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamid, a trauma and critical care surgeon based in the United States, as he arrived in Port Sudan for the third Dr. Isam Osman Humanitarian Mission this year.
