Celebrating 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

2021

SAMA partnered with Ahfad University for Women (AUW) to deliver two awareness sessions to Ahfad Secondary Schools students and female workers at AUW. The awareness sessions focused on menstrual health and hygienic practices. During these sessions, SAMA distributed more than 350 dignity kits. 

2020

SAMA partnered with the Gender & Reproductive health & Rights Resource & Advocacy Center (GRACe) at Ahfad University for Women and the Combatting Violence Against Women Unit (CVAW) at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to hold events during the 16 days of activism against GBV. A webinar was held with all parties presenting and was attended by over 20 participants and was broadcasted live on Facebook. SAMA donated 1500 masks, banners, and printed awareness material for a live event at AUW.

2019

SAMA organized awareness sessions at two girls’ high schools in Khartoum. The 200 schoolgirls were trained on: Girls’ rights to education, harmful effects of early marriage and childbirth, hygiene practices, and Female Genital Mutilation.
