Monitoring and Evaluation Contractor in Tawila

Last week, El Fashir, the capital of North Darfur, witnessed a severe escalation of violence, resulting in mass killings, destruction, and widespread displacement. Thousands of families fled the city under life-threatening conditions, seeking refuge in nearby areas, including Tawila, where they now face dire shortages of shelter, food, and medicine.

In response to this urgent humanitarian crisis, the Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA), in partnership with a local organization, is implementing an emergency medical relief program to provide immediate and lifesaving medical care to the displaced families who have arrived in Tawila.

To ensure effective coordination, accountability, and accurate reporting of this emergency response, SAMA is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer, based in Tawila, Darfur. The M&E Officer will lead and coordinate with local partners to monitor project activities, document progress, and ensure that assistance reaches those most in need in accordance with SAMA’s humanitarian principles and standards.

The M&E Officer will:

• Coordinate with the local partner to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
• Collect and share up-to-date information on the humanitarian situation in Tawila.
• Conduct regular site visits to displacement sites to monitor activities and verify the delivery of aid.
• Monitor and observe project activities to ensure they are implemented according to the approved plan.
• Document the delivery and use of aid through both written records and photographs.
• Compile and submit a final report summarizing the project’s activities, outputs, outcomes, and challenges.

• Be based in Tawila and well-rooted in the community.
• Have experience in monitoring and evaluating projects
• Have a reliable source of internet or access to a Starlink hotspot

• Maintain political neutrality at all times.
• Be able to communicate quickly via WhatsApp and provide rapid updates when needed.
• Be easy to work with, proactive, and reliable.
