Dr. Mohmaed Fadl Elnour
The Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) is proud to announce Dr. Mohamed Fadl Elnour as the recipient of the 2025 SAMA Mentor Award.
Dr. Elnour’s legacy of excellence, integrity, and compassion has profoundly influenced generations of Sudanese American physicians. As a guiding force for the first cohort of Sudanese doctors who later founded SAMA, Dr. Elnour has been instrumental in cultivating a community rooted in service, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
His steadfast commitment to training nephrology specialists in Sudan reflects a lifelong dedication to advancing medical education and improving healthcare in our homeland. This award stands as a symbol of our deep respect and gratitude for his extraordinary mentorship and tireless contributions.
Dr. Mohamed Fadl M. Elnour, MD, is a highly respected healthcare provider with over five decades of experience. He is based primarily in Wormleysburg, PA, with an additional office in Camp Hill, PA. A 1974 medical school graduate, Dr. Elnour specializes in Nephrology and Internal Medicine and is affiliated with UPMC Harrisburg. He is fluent in both Spanish and Arabic, further reflecting his commitment to compassionate, inclusive care.
We are honored to celebrate Dr. Elnour’s contributions at a special ceremony in Cairo on December 20, 2025, where the award will be formally presented.
Dr. Isam Osman Award

Dr. Salah Hassan
SAMA is proud to honor Dr. Salah Eldin Mohamed Elmustafa Hassan as the 2025 recipient of the Dr. Isam Osman Award for Outstanding Surgeon. A trailblazing cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Salah has played a pivotal role in advancing cardiac care in Sudan, including performing over 250 pediatric heart surgeries and establishing the country’s first congenital heart surgery program at Wad Medani Heart Center.
Dr. Salah holds an MBBS from the University of Gezira and a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Egypt. His career spans leading institutions in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. As an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Gezira, he has mentored numerous students and surgical residents.
Even amid war and displacement, Dr. Salah continued to deliver life-saving care, lead missions, and rebuild critical health infrastructure, including establishing an ICU for displaced patients in Dongola and now helping restore the Wad Medani Heart Center.
His contributions to clinical excellence, mentorship, and humanitarian service embody the spirit of the Dr. Isam Osman Award. SAMA is honored to recognize Dr. Salah’s remarkable impact at the upcoming award ceremony.
Humanitarian relief award

Mr. Jafar Amseib, Youth and Revival Organization representation
SAMA is proud to recognize the Youth Revival Charitable Organization (YRCO), led by Mr. Jafar Amseib, with the 2025 Humanitarian Relief Award for its outstanding contributions to healthcare and humanitarian efforts in Sudan.
YRCO’s initiatives—including the establishment of the Ahmed Nasrallah Children’s Hospital, support for a kidney dialysis center, and the creation of an oxygen generation unit—have addressed critical needs during a time of national crisis.
In January 2025, SAMA, YRCO, and We Are All Values came together in Cairo to form the Humanitarian Relief and Reconstruction Alliance of Sudan, a collaborative effort to rebuild the country with transparency, compassion, and a shared vision for a better future.
This award honors YRCO’s unwavering dedication to serving communities and leading with purpose.
