Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Lifetime Achievement Award- 2025

The Sudanese American Medical Association established the Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Lifetime Achievement Award to honor the legacy of its co-founder and Sudan office director, who passed away on April 25, 2023. A selection committee will oversee the selection process. The award will be presented to a physician who will have made significant contributions to the people of Sudan and will have worked in the country for at least five years. The nomination process will open in April 2025 and will be available for online submission for three weeks, during which nominations will be collected. The committee will carefully review all submissions and will select the most deserving candidate.

The award will be presented during SAMA’s annual summit ceremony, held in Cairo on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Nominations will be closed on May 6, 2025

• Experience in Sudan in the Last 5 Years: Candidates must have actively contributed to healthcare, education, or humanitarian efforts in Sudan within the past five years.
• Charitable Work Beyond Their Immediate Environment
• Teaching and Training: Assesses the candidate’s role in capacity building through education, mentorship, and professional development.
