Keeping Hope Alive
The devastating conflict in Sudan has imposed immense hardship on the people of Sudan. Sadly, the challenges come compounded for patients with cancer. The main cancer hospital in Khartoum has shut down. Many cancer patients without the means to travel outside Khartoum have been left stranded with no access to these life-saving treatments.
Hospital#4 (the fourth hospital we support in Khartoum) has set up an impromptu oncology clinic to serve these patients. The main challenge facing them now is paying for the cancer medication and staff wages. Medication bills totaled $2,913, and $326 for the staff salaries.
Patients have already been striving to fight and overcome their cancer diagnoses, and with the devastating situation in Sudan, we can’t turn a blind eye. Let’s come together to help keep hope alive for those fighting cancer.
