Overview
Since 2021, the Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) has used the Project ECHO case-based learning model to empower frontline clinicians and address emergency healthcare gaps in Sudan. Now operating as a designated Project ECHO Super Hub, SAMA is hosting its second Partner Launch Training to scale this network nationwide, focusing on rapid health emergency response and building resilient local health systems.
This intensive 3-day program equips new and emerging partners with the foundational knowledge, operational skills, and workflows required to launch and sustain independent ECHO hubs.
Key Learning Objectives
Participants will learn how to:
- Master the core principles and architecture of the Project ECHO model.
- Design a comprehensive ECHO program (curriculum, topics, and session workflows).
- Define team roles (Hub leadership, faculty, coordinators, IT, and M&E).
- Utilize advanced session facilitation and case-based learning strategies.
- Manage operations, including recruitment, IT setup, onboarding, and communication.
- Implement evaluation metrics using ECHO-aligned monitoring tools.
Event Logistics & Format
- Dates: September 22, 23, and 24, 2026
- Venue: Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Center for Development and Humanitarian Relief Support, Gedarif, Sudan (Detailed site maps will be sent upon registration).
- Format:
- In-Person (Mandatory): For representatives from newly recruited partner hubs.
- Virtual: Exclusively available to existing participants from previously established hubs.
Participant Policies (In-Person Attendees)
Travel Reimbursement
SAMA will reimburse travel costs under the following conditions:
- Attendance: Full completion of all 3 training days is required.
- Documentation: A completed Travel Reimbursement Form and legible, dated receipts must be submitted post-event.
- Note: Reimbursements are processed only after the training concludes and documents are verified.
Accommodation
- SAMA covers accommodation in Gedarif for a maximum of 4 nights (September 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2026).
- Arrival: Participants must arrive in Gedarif on September 21, 2026, to be ready for Day 1.
- Note: Lodging outside of these dates will not be covered.
